I do agree that a lot of video games are overly violent, but they are given suitable ratings. The exception is games in the Internet, but again that&#039;s down to the parents to protect the children from sites containing those. Perhaps though they do need more levels of ratings.

As you say, there isn&#039;t much there distinguishing between younger ages, and there is a difference between what a seven and a ten year old can deal with. Mario is a completely harmless game. If a child cannot tell the difference between fictional characters beating up fictional monsters, they are clearly too young to be playing the game.


People are quick to blame the games for the behaviour of children. Some games may influence children, it is understandable that young children would be. But you can&#039;t blame the games for that.



Simply put, parents need to look at game reviews before giving in to their child&#039;s demands for it. I&#039;m glad that you end the article with that point.</description>
