Dubai Sports City and Views of Cricket Stadium

The Dubai Sports City cricket stadium will hold 25,000 spectators and has been designed to provide the best neutral venue in the world for international test, one-day, and Twenty:20 tournaments. The stadium is shaped like a bowl, providing excellent views from every seat in the ground and bringing the spectators closer than ever to the action.
The player’s changing rooms will be among the most luxurious and spacious of any cricket ground in the world. With indoor and outdoor pitch-side seating, physiotherapy and massage rooms, a raised lounge with a view of the pitch, locker rooms and dining areas, the Dubai Sports City cricket stadium will provide the most exclusive preparation suite for any side.

As the first of four planned arenas, the cricket stadium – one of the most modern in the world – has been opened for the match of Pakistan vs. Australia.

With the spectacular architecture of the crossbow-like roof girder construction, the stadium – equipped with seating for 25,000 spectators – is a prime candidate for becoming a landmark in Dubai. The Dubai Cricket Stadium has been built by a joint venture between the Alpine Bau Deutschland AG and the Emirates Belbabi Contracting based in Dubai.

Every aspect of this internationally regarded cricket stadium is based on state-of-the-art expertise and innovative technology. The lighting system consists of 365 spotlights positioned on the roof of the stadium. This ‘ring of fire’ creates unique atmospheric lighting while preventing bothersome shadows of the players from being cast onto the field. Enno Finder from the Berlin planning office AD Acoustic Design Ahnert was commissioned by gmp international architects, Berlin to plan the PA system. His choice of speakers was for the proven and tested products from the German manufacturer Kling & Freitag. A total of 32 K&F Line 212 and various K&F CA 106 ‘Outdoor Installation’ speakers were installed on-site by the company ESE from Abu Dhabi.

The version ‘Outdoor Installation’ is used in all K&F systems that are installed in stadiums and arenas, for example. A special enclosure painting, the waterproofing of the speaker cones, as well as the use of protective grilles out of aluminium, and a connecting terminal out of V2A steel guarantee the long product life even with the high climatic demands prevailing in Dubai.
